How to hack it in the wilderness with Dessa
An apocalypse can come at any given moment. Do you keep it cool or run around screaming, not knowing what to do? Fear no more! Dessa is here to learn you some unusual hacks so you too, can hack it in the wilderness!

- From : Odessa Valyrion

Hey psst, you! yes YOU! I keep on saying you wan't bring a lot of stuff when you need to get going fast. But today I will tell you what my go to item is. Something that will always be in my backpack at all times!

Duct tape! (for survival purposes Shaw!).  Duct tape can be used for so many purposes and over the months I've shared some intructions to help you hack it in the wild that included duct tape. Still a lot of people can't see the magic of this lifesafer! This week I will prove you all wrong!

1. It can open tight lids!
So if you, like me, don't have a muscle man around the house that wants to prove his strenght, you can always rely on duct tape! Tape over the lid and a leave a strip you can pull. Tadaaa.

2. Protect them blisters
Aah blisters, we all  had them maybe once or twice or.. you know all the time you wear uncomfy shoes. Those blisters need to stay intact to eleminate the chances of an infection and you know when you can't risk yourself like that? When you're stuck in the wilderness with all its dirty and no medical centre near by.
You can either prevent them by sticking up the duct tape before you wear those shoes, or protect blisters by using a clean gauze and tape the duct tape over it to keep it in place.

3.Create a water cup.

Duct tape can be used to craft all kinds of things, arrow flights, tents, rafts, canoes and even a cup that holds water! Do not use it above a fire, but you can use it to have a drink after you sanitized the water in a can... or use it as glasses for your guests when your twins have smashed all the others in the house. These are kiddie prove! ( do not let them munch on them tho)

4. Temporarily fix a tire
I just found this out as I managed to end a supply run at the side of the road with a flat tire! Two lucky gents got the priveledge to come to my aid (at gun point) They used duct tape to stop the air from getting back out and get me back to the gates so I could change the tire.

5. A clothing line!
Ok with me moving to our new home I didn''t have the time to fix a washing line in the back yet. But these clothes need to dry! So as some of you may have noticed. I put one up and it's all duct tape! Not to worry, I only hang my t-shirts out, no delicate wear on display for ya'll to see.

so these are five relatively unknown uses for duct tape we hadn't discussed in earlier episodes. There are plenty of other uses. Like fixing small stuff, covering up leaks in a raft or tent, tarp, your backpack. Just to name a few more common uses.

Starting next week I will be moving on to another type of blog. It's going to be a lot of fun and will involve Alexandria's finest! Stay tuned!
